Would You Spend an Evening Discovering More Than 150 Whiskies? |
Johannesburg's biggest whisky festival returns this August, bringing together rare drams, expert masterclasses and an evening dedicated to discovering the world of whisky. |

Most whisky tastings introduce you to one or two bottles.
The Only Whisky Show offers the chance to compare more than 150 whiskies from around the world in a single evening.
Returning to The Galleria in Kramerville on 13 and 14 August, the festival celebrates its eighth edition, bringing together international whisky brands, rare releases, guided masterclasses and industry experts under one roof. Whether you're taking your first steps into the world of whisky or adding another favourite to your collection, it has become one of South Africa's premier whisky events.
A World of Whisky in One Place
Visitors can sample whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Japan, Taiwan, Israel and South Africa, comparing styles that range from light and delicate to rich, smoky and complex.
Rather than simply tasting different whiskies, the event gives guests the opportunity to learn what makes each one unique, with brand ambassadors and whisky specialists available throughout the evening to answer questions and share their knowledge.
For those looking to experience something truly special, each ticket also includes three Copper Coupons, which can be exchanged for rare and limited-release whiskies not available as part of the standard tasting.
Learn From the Experts
One of the highlights of the festival is its optional masterclasses, where internationally recognised whisky experts take guests deeper into the craft behind the spirit.
From production techniques and cask maturation to flavour profiles and tasting methods, these sessions offer a chance to learn directly from some of the people shaping the global whisky industry. Masterclass tickets are available separately.
More Than a Night Out
The Only Whisky Show isn't just for collectors. It's designed for anyone who enjoys discovering something new. Whether you're curious about single malts, interested in premium spirits, or simply looking for a different kind of evening out, the event offers an experience that's difficult to recreate anywhere else.
Planning Your Visit
When: Thursday, 13 August and Friday, 14 August 2026 Time: 18:00 to 22:00 Where: The Galleria, Kramerville, Johannesburg Tickets: R690 per person

The Bottom Line
Great whisky is about more than what's in the glass. It's about craftsmanship, history and discovering flavours you may never have experienced before.
For two nights this August, Johannesburg whisky lovers will have the chance to do exactly that, all in one place. |
