The Roedean Art Fair runs from 1 to 3 October 2026 at Roedean School in Parktown, bringing student work into the same exhibition space as emerging and established artists.

For the young exhibitors, it is an opportunity to show their work beyond the classroom and engage with practising creatives. Visitors can also hear from speakers including Stevenson director Lerato Bereng and Karabo Morule, CEO of Capital Art.

Explore the fair with a collector

On Saturday, 3 October, from 11:00 to noon, Maps Maponyane is scheduled to lead a collector’s walk, discussing works that catch his attention and his approach to collecting.

The walk is listed as free but limited to 15 people, with bookings taken on a first-come basis. Check availability and arrange fair admission separately.

If you are considering a purchase, ask about the materials, whether a print is part of a limited edition, and whether the price includes framing or delivery.

The Bottom Line

You do not need to be a buyer to enjoy the fair. Choose a work that interests you and ask about it. That conversation can offer something a label beside a picture cannot.
