Inanda Open Garden Supports Child Welfare This Weekend |

A private garden in Inanda opens to visitors on 17 and 18 October, offering a weekend of garden viewing while supporting Johannesburg Child Welfare.
The Johannesburg Garden Club’s 2026 Open Garden marks its 75th anniversary. Entry costs R100, with children under 12 admitted free.
Visitors will find a mature garden of about one-and-a-half acres, originally laid out in the mid-20th century. Established trees, formal areas and winding paths form its structure, with more recent planting focused on blue and white, alongside colour from the rose garden.
Plants, Tea and Sunday Music
The outing includes more than a walk around the grounds.
Organisers list a plant sale featuring plants grown by club members, garden accessories and a Portobello Road collectables stand. Refreshments will be available from the tea garden and a champagne, wine and salmon bar.
On Sunday, 18 October, the Phoenix Big Band is scheduled to perform at noon.
It is an option for gardeners looking for planting ideas, as well as visitors who would rather browse, have tea and spend time outdoors.
Before You Go
The Bottom Line
This is a chance to visit a garden usually closed to the public, with proceeds directed to child welfare. Book ahead to avoid relying on on-site availability. |
