Kora Restaurant Opens in Sandton with Mi Casa Live on May 1

A new fine dining destination inspired by West African musical heritage opens at The Marc

A new fine dining destination, Kora, opens at The Marc Shopping Centre in Sandton on Friday 1 May 2026. The restaurant promises an elevated experience that blends food, music, and stylish ambience.

 

The Opening Night Experience

 

Kora is launching with a six-course dining experience priced at R2,500 per person. The menu includes amuse-bouche, heirloom tarte tatin, short rib, cured seabass, and dessert. Drinks include a marula mirage cocktail and Provence rosé.

South African band Mi Casa will perform live. Lead singer J’Something, also a cook and restaurateur, makes the collaboration a natural fit.

 

More Than a Restaurant

 

Kora doubles as a bar and lounge designed for connection and relaxation. The name is inspired by the kora, a traditional West African string instrument known for its rich, rhythmic sound.
