The Delicious Festival Is Coming Back and It Has New Dates

Two days of soul, funk and groove at Kyalami this September despite DStv ending its sponsorship

The Delicious Festival Is Coming Back and It Has New Dates

The Delicious Festival will return in 2026. Organisers have confirmed the dates, and it is happening over Heritage Weekend on 19 and 20 September at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

This comes after DStv ended its 12 year sponsorship of the event. Canal+, which now owns MultiChoice, pulled the funding as part of wider cost cuts. That means the festival will no longer carry the DStv name going forward.

The Show Goes On

Despite losing its biggest backer, the festival is not going anywhere. Organisers confirmed it will be a two day event this year, with a lineup built around soul, funk and groove.

Those genres have always been at the heart of the Delicious experience. Past editions have featured international headliners like Janet Jackson and Jill Scott, and the event has grown into one of Joburg’s most loved annual weekends.

Whether international acts will still feature as prominently remains to be seen. But the core of what makes Delicious special is locked in.

More Than Just Music

The festival has always been about more than the stage. It is a platform for local food vendors, fashion designers and small businesses. Last year, graduates from the Delicious Festival Traders Academy served food on the main stage, putting emerging talent directly in front of thousands of people.

Proudly South African clothing, accessories and jewellery are a big part of the experience too. The focus on local craftsmanship and conscious consumption has helped position Delicious as a driver of the creative economy.

What You Need to Know

  • Date: 19 and 20 September 2026
  • Venue: Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit
  • Lineup: Soul, funk and groove (full lineup to be announced)
  • Tickets: Details to follow

Why This Matters

The Delicious Festival is one of the biggest lifestyle events on Joburg’s calendar. Losing DStv after 12 years could have been the end of the road. Instead, organisers are pushing ahead with a confirmed date and a clear vision. For thousands of fans who look forward to this weekend every year, that is the news they needed to hear.
