ULTRA South Africa Is Back at Nasrec This Freedom Day, and the Lineup Is Massive
Africa's biggest electronic dance music festival is coming back to Johannesburg on Freedom Day weekend.
ULTRA South Africa returns to the Expo Centre at Nasrec on Saturday, 25 April for its 11th edition. The one-day festival brings together some of the biggest names in dance music from around the world alongside South Africa's top DJs. The Headliners
This year's lineup is stacked with international heavyweights. Swedish house legend Axwell tops the bill alongside French producer DJ Snake and American DJ John Summit.
One of the most talked-about sets is a rare back-to-back performance by Afrojack and R3hab. House music icon Dennis Ferrer also joins the lineup. South Africa's Biggest Names on the Same Stage
The local lineup is just as strong. Shimza, Kyle Watson, DJ Kent, Major League DJz, and DBN Gogo all feature on the bill.
There is also a homegrown highlight everyone is watching. Local favourite TiMO ODV will go back-to-back with Kyle Cassim in a collaborative set that blends melodic techno, tech house, and indie dance. TiMO is expected to debut his brand new single Me I Dance alongside unreleased tracks.
"It's always really cool playing the big stages, especially when you look out and see people engaging with the music in a big way," says TiMO ODV. "Letting people see their favourite local on the same stage as the internationals sometimes ends up with people preferring their homegrown talent on the day." Tickets and Prices
