At the 2026 South Africa Restaurant Awards, held at Hotel Sky in Sandton, restaurants from across the city collected some of the evening's biggest honours, showcasing the depth and diversity of Joburg's dining scene.

Qunu Restaurant, located at the Saxon Hotel in Sandhurst, was one of the night's biggest winners, taking home both Best Hotel Restaurant and Best Restaurant in Gauteng. The restaurant has earned a reputation for combining African ingredients with refined culinary techniques in an elegant setting.

 

Another major winner was Chef Moses Moloi of Gigi Restaurant, who was named Best Chef for the third consecutive year. Winning the title once is an achievement. Winning it three years in a row reflects consistency, creativity, and dedication to excellence.
