Pretty Woman the Musical Is Coming to Montecasino and It Opens This WeekOne of Hollywood's most famous love stories is about to come to life on stage in Johannesburg. Pretty Woman: The Musical opens at the Teatro at Montecasino on Thursday 24 April and runs until 31 May. The production is based on the 1990 film starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, and it has already played to packed houses on Broadway, the West End, and across Europe. From Broadway to FourwaysThe musical first opened on Broadway in 2018 and quickly became a hit. Critics called it "high energy, dazzling, and full of 90s nostalgia." It then toured North America, the West End in London, and several European cities. Now the show is making its South African debut. The production features an all South African cast, crew, and band, led by a combined local and international creative team. It is presented by Showtime Management in association with Crossroads Live North America. Romance, Humour, and Big Stage EnergyThe musical follows the same story fans know from the film. Vivian Ward, a woman with a sharp wit and a big heart, meets Edward Lewis, a wealthy businessman, on the streets of Hollywood Boulevard. What starts as a business arrangement turns into something neither of them expected. The stage version brings original music, choreography, and the kind of production value the Teatro is known for. If you are looking for a big night out with romance, glamour, and live music, this is it.
