The Gauntlet Brings Giant Inflatable Obstacle Course to Fourways Mall These School Holidays |
Indoor inflatable obstacle course takes over Fourways Mall for the winter school holidays |
Few school holiday activities in Johannesburg are as direct in purpose as The Gauntlet. This winter, the inflatable obstacle course is set up inside Fourways Mall, turning the Centre Court into a temporary indoor activity space for children and families.
The installation runs from 26 June to 9 July 2026 and operates as a structured, session-based experience in which participants move through a continuous inflatable course during allocated time slots.
A Full Indoor Obstacle Course
The Gauntlet spans more than 1,000 square metres and is built as a continuous inflatable course. It includes climbing sections, tunnels, slides and balance obstacles arranged into a single route.
Participants move through the course in sequence during timed sessions. It is not free play. Each group enters and completes the course within a set time window, with flow managed to control numbers and movement.
The focus is on physical activity and repetition rather than competition or endurance.
Built for School Holiday Demand
The experience is open to children aged 4 and older. Younger children are accommodated in dedicated toddler sessions, during which one adult must accompany them for the duration of the course.
Standard sessions are open to older children and mixed age groups, depending on scheduling.
The format is designed around school holiday demand, offering a short, structured activity that keeps children physically engaged indoors during winter.
What You Need to Know Before You Go
Grip socks are required for all participants. They must be worn inside the course and can be brought from home or purchased on site.
Sessions run throughout the day during the school holiday period, typically starting in the early afternoon on weekdays and earlier on weekends, depending on demand.
The Bottom Line
The Gauntlet is a short-duration, high-energy activity designed to help children burn energy indoors during winter. It is structured, time-limited and purpose-built for holiday crowds rather than extended entertainment. |
