The Hangout Fest 3 Is Your Freedom Day Weekend Sorted

Rock, Soul and Garden Vibes in Edenvale

If you are looking for something to do over the Freedom Day long weekend, The Hangout Fest 3 might be your answer. The music festival returns to The German Club in Edenvale on Saturday 25 April with a lineup that reads like a love letter to South African rock and indie.

Since it started, The Hangout Fest has built a reputation for ditching the big stadium feel in favour of something more personal. It is smaller, louder, and a lot more fun.

The Lineup: From Prime Circle to Majozi

Headlining the day are Prime Circle and The Dirty Skirts, two of South Africa's most recognisable rock acts. The Black Cat Bones bring gritty blues, while Majozi and The Muffinz offer a sunnier, more soulful sound for the afternoon crowd.

The full lineup also includes Shadowclub, Hellcats, Lee Cole, Jasper Dan, and Rambling Bones. Between sets, Barney Simon (the "Godfather of Rock") keeps things moving, with Cath Grenfell and Michael Lesar on the decks.

Family Friendly and VIP Options

Kids under 12 get in free, so this is a real option for families who want to introduce the next generation to live music. General admission is R400 and VIP tickets are R550.

VIP gets you a dedicated bar, private toilets, and actual seating.

Food comes from The German Club's kitchen plus a wider festival spread with vegan and vegetarian options. There is also a dedicated party bus running from Randburg.
