This Johannesburg Burger Just Ranked 8th Best in the World

Johannesburg's food scene has landed on the global map once again. Mafia Bite, a restaurant in Constantia Kloof, has claimed the number eight spot on Time Out's prestigious list of the Best Burgers in the World.

The star of the show is the Frank Lucas Burger. It features nine hour slow smoked beef brisket that pulls apart with ease. The meat is finished with a rich honey BBQ sauce and layered with caramelized onion rings and sweet and sour gherkins.

Time Out Johannesburg City Editor Liesl Bartlett described the burger as one of the most indulgent bites in the city. She praised the contrast between the tender smoky brisket and the sharp crunch of the onion rings.

This recognition comes just in time for International Burger Day. It also follows Johannesburg's recent ranking for having some of the best pizza in the world.
