Joburg Just Got a New Treetop Adventure Park and It Is Open to EveryoneThere is a new way to spend a weekend afternoon in the south of Johannesburg, and it involves zip lines, high ropes, and treetops. Acrobranch Thaba opened its doors in Mulbarton on April 11 and 12 at the Balwin Thaba Eco Village. It is the 13th Acrobranch location in South Africa and the company's first ever hybrid park. What Makes This One DifferentUnlike other Acrobranch parks that are built entirely in the trees, this one combines classic treetop adventure courses with engineered pole obstacles. The result is a wider range of challenges spread across a mix of natural and built structures. The courses are designed for all ages and fitness levels. Children as young as three can take on the junior routes, while older kids, teens, and adults have access to more advanced courses with higher ropes, trickier crossings, and longer zip lines. Each session runs for about two hours. Trained instructors guide visitors through a safety briefing before they start and stay on hand throughout the experience. More Than Just a Family OutingAcrobranch Thaba is open to the public, not just residents of the Thaba Eco Village. The park also takes bookings for corporate team building, birthday parties, school outings, and bachelor or bachelorette events. Marketing manager Rule Bodenstein said the goal is to create an environment that builds confidence, encourages movement, and inspires a sense of adventure. "Visitors can expect a fun, safe, and active environment designed for both children and adults, whether they are first time adventurers or thrill seekers looking for a new challenge," she said. Where to Find It
With 13 parks now open across the country, Acrobranch has become one of South Africa's go to outdoor adventure brands. The new Mulbarton location gives families and groups in the south of Johannesburg a reason to get outside and off their screens for an afternoon. |
