Peter Pan Jr. Returns to Neverland at Peoples Theatre |
The classic family musical comes to The Peoples Theatre this July |
A timeless children's classic takes to the stage this winter as Peter Pan Jr. returns to Peoples Theatre, bringing music, adventure and a little fairy dust to the school holidays.
For generations, Peter Pan has invited audiences to believe in a place where children never grow up. Filled with pirates, fairies, Lost Boys and plenty of adventure, J.M. Barrie's classic story continues to capture the imagination of young audiences more than a century after it first appeared.
This winter, that story returns to the stage as Peter Pan Jr. runs at the People's Theatre from 9 June to 26 July 2026. The production marks the theatre's first staging of the Broadway Junior adaptation and its first Peter Pan production in more than ten years.
A Classic Story for a New Generation
The production follows Peter Pan as he whisks Wendy, John and Michael Darling away to Neverland, where they encounter Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys, mermaids and the ever-persistent Captain Hook. Adapted for younger audiences, the Broadway Junior version retains the heart of the original story while presenting it in a format designed to keep children engaged through music, movement and colourful staging.
A Long-Standing Home for Family Theatre
For more than three decades, Peoples Theatre has specialised in productions created specifically for children and families. Its annual school holiday shows have introduced generations of young theatregoers to live performance, combining familiar stories with interactive moments, music and comedy.
This year's production continues that tradition, offering an accessible introduction to theatre for younger audiences while giving parents the chance to revisit a story many grew up with themselves.
What You Need to Know Before You Go
The Bottom Line
Peter Pan Jr. has remained a favourite for generations because it combines adventure, humour and imagination in a story that appeals to children and adults alike. With its return to the People's Theatre after more than a decade, families have another opportunity to experience one of the world's best-loved tales brought to life on stage during the school holidays. |
